to prepare for G20:
- 2 million residents of Hangzhou have been given paid vacation
- 800,000 volunteers have been enlisted to help keep order
- 172 checkpoints are set up across the city, all bus passengers id checked etc
- 300 kilometer radius of factories shut down to create blue skies… basic maths suggest that is 1884 square kilometres….
It sounds unbelievable but is confirmed by reports on the ground and on Chinese social media (in English).
Now what I want to know is, which of the G20 crowd are brave enough to try the spice scorpion or tarantula on a stick available any many stalls in Song street?
[unless they have closed these too]
